There’s a curious sight alongside these hilly tracks: stretches and stretches of gates.
They are used to keep avalanches and fallen trees from disrupting train travel through these mountains.

Innsbruck to Bolzano
Train Tip: Every other hour between 8am and 5pm, there is a direct EuroCity train that connects Innsbruck and Bolzano. Travel time on the EuroCity is two hours.
