Night train from Budapest to Zurich (1)
Thursday, October 9th, 2008
Travelling overnight from Budapest to Switzerland takes 12 hours. I spent the first half of the trip reading in a seated cabin. For the second half I reserved a couchette.
Barcelona to San Sebastian
Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008
San Sebastian turns out to be a popular reservation. All trains in that direction appear to be fully booked. I use a different scenario to reach my destination: I travel to nearby Bilbao and connect to a bus from there.
Venice to Budapest
Sunday, August 24th, 2008
My reservation on the night train to Budapest turned out be for a seat instead of a bed. Luckily it was quite comfortable. When passing Croatia and Slovenia we had a time-consuming passport control.
Budapest to Warsaw
Monday, June 16th, 2008
I´ve discovered a direct over-night train from Budapest to Warsaw that is not listed in the Eurail Timetable. This train is a great-time saver for anyone traveling East, as it saves connections in Vienna or Prague.
