Bolzano to Nice

I am on the trains today to meet a friend for dinner in Nice. On my way to the train station, my friends from Tirol talk about the (lack of) cleanliness of Italian trains.

Bolzano is situated in southern Tirol, nowadays part of Iatly, The place is also known as Bozen. Autumn is a good time to visit this region with all its wine festivals. You can do some great hiking around Bolzano too.
Budapest to Bolzano, Italy

After comparing train schedules I found the fastest way to Bolzano. In the train towards Italy we pass vineyards and make our way into the Dolomites.
Venice to Budapest

My reservation on the night train to Budapest turned out be for a seat instead of a bed. Luckily it was quite comfortable. When passing Croatia and Slovenia we had a time-consuming passport control.
Salerno to Venezia (Venice)

On way from Salerno to Venice we make a train stop in Napels. I’m a bit concerned about petty theft here, but time flies when talking an Italian naval officer.
Day-trip to Capri

Capri is a recommended destination for a day-trip. From Salerno, you can take several ferries to Capri with spectacular coast views.
Day-trip to Palinuro

Palinuro is a slightly longer train ride south of Salerno, about an hour and a half. But it is worth the trip, with some of the most beautiful beaches I have seen.
Day-trip to Paestum

Paestum is situated only half an hour by train from Salerno. Here you can find monumental ruins and pleasant beaches.
