In Belem

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008
Belem is my favorite side-trip from Lisbon. Stroll along the waterfront and you’ll feel like you are walking into another place and time.

Barcelona to Valencia

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008
On all trains I’ve ridden in Spain, a seat reservation is mandatory in addition to the Eurail Pass. In most major cities you have to put your luggage through a x-ray security check.

Day-trip to Capri

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008
Capri is a recommended destination for a day-trip. From Salerno, you can take several ferries to Capri with spectacular coast views.

Day-trip to Palinuro

Tuesday, August 19th, 2008
Palinuro is a slightly longer train ride south of Salerno, about an hour and a half. But it is worth the trip, with some of the most beautiful beaches I have seen.

Day-trip to Paestum

Monday, August 18th, 2008
Paestum is situated only half an hour by train from Salerno. Here you can find monumental ruins and pleasant beaches.

In Salerno

Monday, August 18th, 2008
Rome and Naples are crowded with tourists in August, so I headed south to the smaller city Salerno. From Salerno various pleasant day-trips can be made.

Prague to Dresden

Friday, June 6th, 2008
With my Eurail Pass I make a beautiful train ride to Dresden. While on my way I hopped off for a stroll in a village called Kurort Rathen.
