Traveling Inside the RailJet View from the RailJet crossing into Germany
Austria’s RailJet is growing in popularity.
Each time I take it, I notice more passengers. It’s the perfect train to take if traveling this seven-hour route between Budapest and Munich, as the train goes direct and no connection is required.

Wonderlamp Train Tip: Because of RailJet’s growing popularity, you may want to make a seat reservation if you are traveling far, and want to ensure a seat. But otherwise, seat reservations are not required on the RailJet.

Eurail is a rip off. My pass was stolen in Rome Italy. I had theft insurance on the pass that I purchased for 20.00. It took them 4 days to mail me a new pass which I had to purchase for $361.00. I kept traveling through Europe spending another $500.00 for those 4 days, and got my new pass in Paris France. They said they would reimburse me, and now they are refusing. They only gave me back the $361.00, not the additional cost of travel for the 4 days while they were mailing the pass from Chicago. This company sells train passes in Europe from Chicago. It’s a scam

    Hi James,

Sorry to hear that you had a negative experience.
Please understand that Eurail is not responsible for this, but the company from Chicago that sold you the Pass. You should contact them again if their insurance conditions state that you should be refunded for all extra costs.
