Barcelona Sants to Sitges

February 24, 2009 · Posted in Eurail, Spain

WonderlampTrain Tip: The sea-side town of Sitges is easily accessible from Barcelona, thirty minutes by fast train, a bit longer by regional trains.
It’s only a few Euros for a ticket to Sitges from Barcelona, and it is better to buy this ticket than to use a day on your Eurail Pass for such a short trip.

If you are using the Eurail Pass to go to Sitges (which is smart to do if, like me, you’ve just arrived in Barcelona the same morning and already have the day’s date written in the pass), then note that the entry machines to the local train tracks at Barcelona Sants are automated only for local tickets. You will need to find an attendant at one of the surrounding entry points to let you onto the local tracks with your Eurail pass.

Hi Jordan, in Barcelona you can go to the international ticket desk at station Sants or station França, they should sell most Eurail Passes (though a bit more expensive than online at Eurail.com).
