Salzburg to Berchtesgaden

There are small shuttle trains that make the hour-long trip across the border into Germany. Though I couldn’t tell a difference of where Austria ends and Germany begins, both seem fiercely protective of the border, not wanting to be mistaken for the other. Snow patches begin appearing on the ground as we go through the woods.
