In Frankfurt

Frankfurt’s Christmas market dates back to 1393 and, this being a business city, is popular with the after-work crowd. I laugh, because when they say that the market closes at 9, it closes at exactly 9: Germans are very good with timetables. Promptly at 9, the shutters go up, the lights go off, and the gluwhein stops pouring.
